Dalmanutha Christ the King: Alzheimer center and elderly care house
70 years after Blessed Abouna Yaacoub’s passing, the King of kings is still standing with open arms to embrace all passers-by into his heart, under the roof of His monastery. However, the buildings of the Monastery are in an obsolete state and need renovation. So, the Sisters of the Cross decided, in accordance with Abouna Yaacoub’s mission, to undertake restoration and expansion works in order to meet international health care standards and services worthy of the elderly, who wish to spend their last days with dignity and in good care.
Dalmanutha, at the heart of Christ the King, is an oasis of peace – inspired by a place where Jesus Christ and his disciples went to for some quite time – equipped with 170 beds for the elderly who accomplished their mission in life, servicing their communities, their children and their families. Therefore, the Sisters of the Cross strive to make “Dalmanutha” a humanitarian circle, to be added to their health care associations and humanitarian missions encompassing up to 3,000 patients, of which 90% are at the expenses of the Ministry of Public Health or for free. Moreover, there are additional servicing and educational associations spread all over Lebanon and abroad, distinguished by 80 years of experience and specialized care.
The Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of the Cross solemnly pledged to preserve the spirit and work of its Founder, Blessed Abouna Yaacoub. It fought relentlessly with courage and conviction, overcoming difficulties and obstacles, to give life to projects. This is why we hope that you will join your hands with ours in order to build together the Dalmanutha of our time, a station of rest, hope and generosity, which will allow us to continue to love, to serve, to care, counting on the Divine Providence and the blessing of Blessed Abouna Yaacoub.
- Health care services at Dalmanutha:
1- Medical care
- Long stay: Dalmanutha welcomes its patients in its medical departments that are distributed among the 5 units of the Center, in comfortable and secure rooms, under the supervision of a medical and specialized nursing team.
- Short stay: Dalmanutha welcomes, in a separate unit, the patients that need to stay for no longer than one month, for treatment, recovery or rest.
2- Daycare Unit
Should the patient need to keep in touch with his/her family and environment, he can spend a few hours at Dalmanutha for adequate health care, over and above medical care.

4- Occupational Rehabilitation & Leisure Activities Unit
